Why is Lord  Ganesh &  Goddess Lakshmi worshiped on Diwali, why not Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi?

Lakshmi ji was found in Sagar Manthan, Lord Vishnu married Goddess Lakshmi  and maa lakshami  was made the deity  of  wealth and property  of the universe. And  kuber ji became assistant  of Goddess lakshmi to distribute the wealth. But  Kuber ji was very miser. He did not distribute the wealth. He himself became the keeper  of the wealth and then Mother Lakshmi became sad  because her  devotees  did not get blessings, And at the end Goddess Lakshmi  told  Lord Vishnu this story.

Then Lord Vishnu advised Lakshami  to use the wisdom of Lord Ganesha after that Lord Ganesha was made to sit on Kuber’s side. Ganesh ji was very intelligent. Ganesh ji said to Goddess Lakshmi, “Maa” I will tell whoever’s name,  please do him a favor without saying but or if,Goddess Lakshmi said okay done.

Now Ganesh ji started removing the obstacles and hindrances in people’s good fortune and opening the doors of wealth for them.Kuber Bhandari kept watching,Ganesh ji became the one who opened the door of Kuber’s storehouse.Seeing the loving kindness of Lord Ganesha towards her devotees, Goddess Lakshmi blessed her  intelligent son , that Wherever she is not with her husband Narayana, her son Ganesha should be with her.

Diwali falls on Kartik Amavasya,  Lord Vishnu is in Yoga Nidra at that time ,and Lord vishnu wake up eleven days later on Dev Uthani Ekadashi.Goddess Lakshmi has to visit the earth in the fifteen days between Sharad Purnima and Diwali, That’s why she brings her intelligence son Ganesh ji with her, This is why goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh are worshiped on Diwali.
